What with the whole Pluto not being a planet any more (I agree with that btw), how many planets do schools teach young children about?
If they don’t teach Pluto as a planet, are there any new mnemonics for the planet names?
Should be 8 now but you still mention the history of Pluto since some kids will be thrown off by the change. I don’t know of any new mnemonics but you can probably figure some out and start using them.

In England, primary schools are not required to teach about the other planets at all according to the National Curriculum.
In practice, I suspect there is still a mix of provision, but with increasing numbers of schools addressing the issue of Pluto directly, recognising its status as a former planet.
